Forville Market

Forville market is the culinary soul of Cannes. Located at the foot of the Suquet quarter, this historic covered market is bursting with exceptional local produce. This is where the chefs of the best Cannes restaurants come every morning.

Sun-ripened fruit and vegetables, fresh Provençal herbs, characterful cheeses, marinated olives, artisan charcuterie… the colourful abundance and aromatic scents make this a true sensory delight.

Provençal specialities

🥣

Bouillabaisse

The queen of Mediterranean cooking. This fish and seafood stew simmered in a saffron broth is the emblem of the Côte d'Azur. Served with toasted bread and rouille sauce. Find it in restaurants around the Suquet and Old Port.

🫓

Socca

Crispy chickpea flour pancake cooked in a wood-fired oven. A street food essential of the region. Eaten hot, peppery — at markets and in the lanes of the Suquet.

🧅

Pissaladière

Niçoise tart with caramelised onion confit, anchovies and black olives on bread dough. A classic at local bakeries and markets. Enjoy as a snack or starter.

Wines of Provence

Provence produces some of the world's best rosés, and the Côte d'Azur is the ideal terroir to enjoy them. Pale, fresh Provence rosé is the reference drink on Cannes terraces.

Lérins Abbey (Saint-Honorat Island) produces exceptional wines, cultivated by Cistercian monks for centuries. These rare wines, available only at the abbey shop, are among the most sought-after in the region.

Dining neighbourhoods

🏰 Le Suquet

The historic quarter concentrates many authentic restaurants, often more affordable than the Croisette. Shaded terraces, traditional Provençal cooking, local atmosphere. Best value in Cannes.

⭐ La Croisette

Gastronomic restaurants and luxury brasseries with seaside terraces. Impeccable service, exquisite presentation. Ideal for a romantic dinner or a high-end gastronomic experience.

⛵ Old Port

Fish and seafood restaurants overlooking the boats. Authentic maritime atmosphere. Terraces facing the port are particularly pleasant in the evening.

Terraces, aperitifs and easy pleasure

Cannes sells not only through restaurant names but through lived moments: coffee in the sun, a terrace lunch on the Croisette, and a relaxed aperitif after the beach or the market.
